Priorities

As current OUSD Board President, Katie understands the strengths of the District as well as the areas for growth and improvement. She has worked diligently for the past four years to guide the strategic direction of the District, keeping students' experiences, learning and outcomes at the forefront of her decision-making. If reelected, she will continue to ensure that Orinda's longstanding tradition of excellence continues.

Academic Excellence

Continue to align and strengthen core academic curriculum for all students, using data to drive instruction and student support
Sustain elective offerings and signature programming in the areas of STEM, art, music and athletics
Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment
Monitor and utilize new technologies strategically and responsibly, following best practices for student learning and well-being

fiscal responsibility

Continue to allocate District resources strategically and equitably
Advocate for adequate state funding to sustain rigorous academics, strong programming and excellent teachers
Oversee the completion of bond-funded modernization projects, and secure necessary funding for future facility and infrastructure needs

Retain our outstanding teacher corp
Attract talented educators
Continue to support and develop teachers and staff, focusing on curricular alignment, differentiation and faculty collaboration
